WORKSHOP: API Integration with a Data Hub
For most organizations today, application integration is being solved with “point-to-point” solutions that spiderweb between apps and services. This is simply an extension of the legacy enterprise integration patterns we’ve seen for 2 decades. But with modern enterprise using more than 1000 cloud-based applications, this point-to-point model doesn’t scale and need to change. Enter Data Hubs. By focusing on the data you care about rather than the interfaces and APIs of your applications - your integration architecture is able to scale, while creating a governance and mediation layer. Data and application integration leaders should develop such a strategy to determine effective mediation of semantics, and to identify data sharing requirements across applications, constituencies and ecosystems.

API World: Workshop Stage 3

1:00pm PDT

WORKSHOP: Deliver SQL Access for Enterprise APIs
Database access is becoming increasingly complex as enterprise APIs deliver centralized data access with identity management, access control and complex transformations. This impacts enterprise analytics platforms that expect SQL access because the published enterprise APIs for data access are often engineered for application developers and return payloads in XML or JSON. This session will discuss best practices and lessons learned when extending your APIs with SQL clients (ODBC/JDBC) to include data engineers and data scientists for enterprise business analytics.
